I decided to follow the candidate Claudia Sorin who ran for the December 2019 general election. Claudia had asked me to take photos for her campaign and I thought it would be interesting to show moments behind the scenes of this short but very intense campaign. The 5 weeks prior to Election Day gave me an overview of how activists undertake such a mammoth task. Claudia and a handful of determined activists had to cover a large part of Dorset with it the necessary and relentless mixture of door knocking, leafleting, street stalls and hustings. I wanted to show also how the line between private life and political activities merge. Indeed the flat was rapidly transformed into a campaign headquarters. It is hard to imagine the moral and physical resilience, the stamina, the force of character required until you witness it. It was such an eye opener to see and record moments of loneliness and introspection and the moments of communion with fellow activists who give so much to try and change our life for the better.
